I made the ring facing fixture following the drawings in Joseph F. Nelson's book, "So you Want to Build a Live Steam Locomotive". I have made a drawing of how I would make it if I had it to do over. After the rings are parted off, I placed the freshly cut off side out and tightened the chuck. I then faced them off to the correct thickness.
